Health Services

Welcome to San Isidro ISD Health Services

The San Isidro ISD Health Services Department is committed to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of every student. Student health and learning go hand in hand, and our goal is to help students stay healthy, safe, and ready to learn each day.

Our school health staff works with families, campus staff, and healthcare providers to assist students with medical needs during the school day. Please contact your child’s campus health office with any questions or concerns regarding your child’s health, medications, allergies, screenings, or emergency care information.

Health Services Information

When to Keep Your Child Home

To help protect the health of all students and staff, students should stay home when they are ill. Students may be sent home if they have:

  • A fever of 100.0°F or higher
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Symptoms of a contagious illness
  • A condition that requires medical attention
  • A health concern that prevents them from safely participating in the school day

Students should be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to school.

Emergencies

Parents and guardians are asked to keep emergency contact and medical information current throughout the school year. If a student has a medical emergency at school or during a school-related activity and a parent/guardian cannot be reached, the district will use the emergency care information on file.

Please notify the campus office or school health staff immediately if there are changes to your child’s emergency contacts, medical conditions, medications, or physician information.

Medications at School

Medication should not be sent with students. All prescription and over-the-counter medications must be brought to the campus health office by a parent/guardian and must be in the original container.

A completed Medication Administration Form is required for each medication. Prescription medication must be properly labeled. Any medication changes may require updated documentation from a healthcare provider.

Food Allergies and Medical Conditions

Parents/guardians should notify the school health office of any food allergies, severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, or other medical conditions that may require support during the school day.

For food allergies or special dietary needs, documentation from a healthcare provider may be required. Families are encouraged to submit updated action plans and medical forms each school year.
